I was at University) but since being at home I realised that I haven't been running as much as I use to. So in the last few weeks I have been completing a morning run plus been going to the gym at least three times a week. However, since becoming more active I have noticed that my legs are really suffering. They are usually sore after a run plus they just feel really tired and it does feel like I can barely walk in a straight line. Therefore, I was doing some research trying to find products that work predominantly for people who suffer from tired legs and I found this Almond Lighter Legs Food Cream from L'Occitane En Province.
I don't often buy anything from L'Occitane, but I was really intrigued to see if this product really does work. I actually went and got this when I spend a couple of days in Aldeburgh a few weeks ago, and I was asking the lady who worked in L'Occitane about this product and whether it really worked and she told me that it will help to relieve tired legs and feet. Even though this is described as a foot cream, it can also be used on your legs as well.
As you can see from the formula in the photo, this is more of a gel-cream, and it has been formulated with natural active ingredients which will instantly melt into the skin to help relieve tired legs. There is a combination of peppermint essential oils and menthol to provide an intense and long lasting sensation of freshness. Plus one of the other ingredients is almond oil which helps to make the skin feel even softer. The formula is smooth, and there is a non-sticky texture to it once you rub it in and I like the fact that you can wear clothing immediately after you have applied the gel-cream. You get 75ml in the tube, which is quite good, and it does last a long time because you don't have to use too much of the cream, unless your legs are feeling really tired.
I really like this product and for me it works every time I apply it to my skin. I will just massage this gel-cream into my skin every time I have been out for a run or I have been to the gym and instantly I can feel a difference in my legs. They feel less tired plus because of the peppermint essential oils and menthol ingredients, there is a cooling quality to this cream; which is perfect for Summer. Obviously my legs still feel sore from being at the gym but they don't feel really tired like they use to, plus it does leave my legs feeling smooth. I have been using this for almost three weeks and I still have loads of the product left in the tube, and I usually use it every other day, sometimes daily. My Mum has also been using this because she suffers with pain in her knees and she has noticed a considerable difference as well and this cream works for her as well. I love this product so much that when I went to London the week after buying this, I went and purchased another one in the L'Occitane shop just so I wouldn't run out any time soon. My only criticism is the smell. I have never been a massive fan of peppermint anyway, and this is very overpowering and it does linger on my skin for quite some time after applying. It almost reminds me of the intense scents in Liz Earle products, although I prefer this scent to Liz Earle. I just wish it wasn't as strong but then it shows how much of the essential oils have been packed into this product. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who suffers from tired legs because it works instantly plus it does have cooling benefits which is perfect for when you are out in the Summer sunshine.
The Almond Lighter Legs is available for £20 (here).
