SEPTEMBER FAVOURITES 2016

It has been ages since I have done a favourites post, truth be told the last couple of months have not been great for me personally. Also I found that I had got stuck in my comfort zone and was using the same products over and over again. Well now I am determined to use new products each month and switch out beauty items regularly so I can write this favourites post each month. Some of these products I have been using since August but they are all products that I have loved using or watching throughout September. I of course have quite a few beauty products that I have been loving this month, but I do have a couple of TV shows and songs that I have also been loving.

Beauty

I have been loving the L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks and I have been getting into multi-masking in all of September. I actually did a review of these masks in July and I have still been using them and I have repurchased some of them as well. I have really been loving the Detox Mask, which is the charcoal one, as it helps to clear up any impurities and remove any pores. I am really wanting to now try the Glamglow masks because everyone raves about them in every YouTube video I watch.

Only a week ago, I was writing about the L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Air Range. It was of course going to be in my September favourites because I spoke so highly of the shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo. I have since tried some other products like a serum and the masque and I love them as well. This range is perfect for me because I need to add volume to my hair so that my curls will hold better, and since using this range I have noticed a difference. This leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny, as well as giving me that volume that I desire.

The Elizabet Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturiser has recently become one of my favourite overnight moisturisers. I suffer from dry skin in certain areas of my face (mainly around my T-zone) and since using this moisturiser I have noticed a difference. This is like a firm gel and I just apply it every night after my skincare routine and removing my makeup. I just rub the product between my fingers and apply all over my face. It is almost like a mask because it does leave you looking shiny but it is so hydrating and in the morning I can see that the dryness has been reduced and leaves my skin looking refreshed, radiant and smooth. I don't think I will ever be without a pot of this in the future!!

One of my all-time favourite drugstore concealers is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and always has to be in my everyday makeup bag. So many bloggers have talked about this concealer and I have been using this for years and will always be in my favourites. If I only have one concealer for the rest of my life, I would choose this one. It gives me such full coverage and is perfect for covering spots and to even out my skin tone. I usually buy it in the lightest shade which is Fair because it then just brightens my under eye area and makes me look more awake. I just love this concealer so much and it is so affordable as well.

One of my favourite lip products this month was YSL's Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in 'Nude in Private'. I wore this on my graduation day so of course it was going to be in my favourites for this month. This is my first YSL lipstick and it is one of the best lipsticks I have purchased, because I love sheer lipsticks. It almost reminds me of a lip balm with a tint and it just hydrates my lips and adds a slight nude/mauve tint to my lips. It lasted most of the day as well and even lasted in hot weather and I know I will be buying more in the future.

The Benefit Ka-Brow! has made my favourites because I have used this every single day in September and I have not even used another product except a clear brow gel to set the product. I absolutely love this product and it is incredible. It is highly pigmented and helps to fill out my brows and keep them looking natural. Also it is waterproof for 24 hours which is perfect especially if it is a hot day or if it is raining; meaning I don't have to worry about any product running down my face. I would recommend this to anyone.

The final beauty product that I have been loving this month is the L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation. I have been using this foundation every day just to give me a light coverage and it is perfect if you want to look like you are not wearing a heavy foundation on your skin. I have become obsessed with cushion products since using this foundation and I really like the idea of it. I do worry about bacteria getting into the sponge because there is no pump but it has lasted me a long time and I really love the coverage that it gives me. It also doesn't settle in any of the dry areas on my face and it leaves a beautiful dewy finish to my skin, making it look flawless and radiant. I have had so many compliments on my skin when I have worn this foundation and it looks very natural. You can obviously mattify it down with a translucent powder and it will become slightly more matte.

Fashion

One of my absolute favourite fashion pieces for September is my Aspinal of London Midi Marylebone Tote in Monochrome Mix. I actually got this in August as a gift from my Mum for finishing University with a 2:1 in law. I got it in Westfield London and I have been using it every single day since I received it. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may have already seen it and it is the best bag I have ever owned. My very first designer bag was a Kate Spade and it was pale pink which ended up getting dye from my jeans transferred onto the leather, which I could not get off. I have always wanted an Aspinal of London handbag because I think they look so elegant plus they are massive and you can fit so much in them. I decided to get it in Monocrome Mix, because I liked the fact that the handles and the base were black but there was a cream panels so it can be used all year round. This is an expensive handbag and I know a lot of people will think the price paid was crazy but I have loved using this handbag and I am super protective of it when it comes to dirt getting anywhere near it. I think this bag is stunning and it comes in so many different colour combinations and I would recommend this handbag over any other designer bag available.

I only have two fashion products this month that are my true favourites; the other one being my Karen Millen Leather Biker Jacket. If you click on the link you will notice it leads you to a jacket that is completely different colour to mine; the reason for that is because my jacket is no longer available and I thought this one was the closest to mine. I got my jacket in the sale at an Outlet shopping centre (so I would recommend checking the Karen Millen outlet stores for a bargain on leather jackets). This was reduced from £450 to £150 which is a bargain in my eyes. I have never owned a real leather jacket and I am so glad I found this one. I have worn it all the time in September and it is perfect for the transition period leading into Autumn. I also loved the khaki green/grey colour which I thought would be different to just the standard black or brown leather jacket that I see so many people wearing. This has so much detail on it and it is absolutely stunning on and I even wore it over my graduation dress for an evening meal and it still looked really good.

Books

I try and read at least one book each month, and with the release of the upcoming film, I decided to re-read The Girl on the Train. I read it in June and I wanted to re-read it because I had forgotten what had happened and I wanted to remember what happened before I watched the film which is being released this month in the UK. This is a psychological thriller and I really enjoyed reading this book, I just hope that the film is as good.

TV Shows

There are two TV shows that I loved in September; one being Stranger Things and the other is Once Upon A Time. I have loved Once Upon a Time since is started six seasons ago. I really love this show because even though it is based on Disney characters, it is not just retelling the same stories, instead each character's story is changed and it is my favourite show of all time. Season six started two weeks ago and it is just as good. Stranger Things became an obsession of mine in September and I watched all of the episodes in one day. I had heard all the hype about it before and didn't think it would be a show I would like, but this was incredible and I cannot wait for the second season next year. If you like Thriller, Suspense and science fiction, then you will love this show. It is described as a science-fiction-horror show, but there aren't as many scary parts as I thought there was going to be. Although I do remember hiding under the duvet a minute into the first episode because I was scared, however as the story progresses it is not as scary. I would definitely recommend these two shows to anyone.

Music

There are two songs that I have had on repeat all of September and have been stuck in my head when I'm not listening to them. The first is Closer by The Chainsmokers ft Halsey and the second is We Don't Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth ft Selena Gomez. I have got the YouTube videos linked below so you can listen to them here and they are just my favourite songs right now.
