CHOCOLATE REINDEER CUPCAKES - BLOGMAS DAY 10

These quick and easy Chocolate Reindeer Cupcakes are so easy to make; and would be perfect to make with children over the holidays. All you need is a few ingredients and because these are all quick and easy recipes you can buy the chocolate cupcake mix boxes (or in my case by a chocolate fudge cake mix) and you can buy already made chocolate icing. You do not have to be a great baker to make these cupcakes. They are so easy to decorate and look like you have bought them from a shop!

Makes: 15 Cupcakes | Prep Time: 30-40 minutes (including decorating time) | Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes

You will need ...

1 Box of Chocolate Cupcake Mix
1 Tub of Chocolate Icing
Red Smarties
Salted Pretzels
White Icing
Black Icing

Method ...

Firstly, line a muffin tin with cupcake cases and preheat the oven to 180c. Take the dry ingredients from the box of chocolate cupcake mix or chocolate fudge cake mix and place in a mixing bowl. Add the water, vegetable oil and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix all the ingredients together until you have a smooth batter and all the ingredients have been combined together. Fill each cupcake case until 3/4 of the way full. Put the muffin tin into the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes; or until they have risen and a skewer comes out clean.

Once the cupcakes have baked, leave to cool fully. After the cupcakes have cooled for between half an hour and an hour, fill a piping bag with the chocolate icing. Ice each cupcake so it looks like there is a swirl on the top of the cake (don't go to high with the icing otherwise you might run out).

Once all the cupcakes have been iced, add two pretzels near the top of the cupcakes, to look like antlers. Add a red smartie and place in the centre of the cupcake to look like Rudolph's red nose. Finally pipe two circles of icing above the smartie to look like eyes. Finally pipe little black dots onto the white icing to make the pupils. If you get points when you are icing the eyes, then dab your finger in some water and gently tap the point down.
