FRIDAY TREATS #2

This is the second week of my series, which I have named Friday Treats. Every week I am going to share with you three products that I have been loving throughout the week. I am constantly trying out new products and I do love to shop quite frequently, so my favourites change week to week; one day I can be loving a drugstore lipstick and the next I could be obsessed with a luxury high-end liquid lipstick. In this series I will try to include a variety of luxury and less expensive items; whether it is fashion or beauty related. Most of these products will either be beauty or fashion related, but on some occasions I will include my favourite books, jewellery pieces, homeware or even food that I have been loving during that week. Whether it's something to add to your own wish list, a mid-week treat or a gift for a friend ... maybe this series can give you some inspiration on what to buy on your next shopping  trip.

First of all my favourite fashion piece of choice: Burberry's Monogrammed Giant Check Cashmere Scarf in "Stone Check." I have always said I would never buy an expensive scarf, but I have always secretly loved the monogrammed giant check cashmere scarf from Burberry. So this Christmas I decided to treat myself to the scarf of my dreams! This is a pricey item and some people will think that the price I paid is ridiculous but it was my Christmas present to myself and I have worn it non-stop since it arrived at the beginning of January. Being a cashmere scarf means that it is incredible soft and even though it is not a gigantic in size, it does keep me really warm which has been great as it has been so cold in England over the last few weeks! You can get this scarf in 32 colours ranging from the more classic camel check all the way to a bright emerald check; there really is a colour for everyone in this range. I decided to go with the classic colours of the Burberry check, which is a beige/camel, black and red check. The "Camel Check" is the most famous check but I wanted to buy a colour that I could wear with pretty much any outfit so I decided to choose the "Stone Check" instead. I am so glad I chose this colour as it goes with everything and I do like the fact that it has the red and black running through the check so it is clear that it is the Burberry Check. I also had the scarf monogrammed with my initials ('VLC') and I chose to have them monogrammed in the shade "Parade Red" which is a similar red to that in the check print. It doesn't really stand out when you wear it but it is still visible and it just makes the scarf more special. Also the monogramming on the Burberry website is free of charge; although the scarf is more expensive on the website than it is on Selfridges. If you are wanting to spoil yourself or want to ask for this scarf for a Birthday, Valentine's Day, Anniversary or Christmas then I would definitely recommend it. This scarf is definitely worth the price and I have already gotten my money's worth out of it, as I have worn it every single day since receiving it. The Giant Check Cashmere Scarf retails for £350 from the Burberry Website here (Monogramming is free of charge) or from Selfridges for £335 here (Monogramming is not available online).

THE PERFECT FACE PALETTE - CHARLOTTE TILBURY INSTANT LOOK IN A PALETTE

I know my latest blog post was on what I thought was the perfect nude lipstick; which was "Kim K.W." from Charlotte Tilbury (and now I have a review on another Charlotte Tilbury product. I promise this will be the last Charlotte Tilbury post for a while but I really wanted to talk about this product because I have been using it so much since I bought it a couple of weeks ago.

Charlotte's Instant Look In A Palette was brought back due to popular demand; I feel like this was so talked about during 2016 and unfortunately when I went to originally buy it, it had sold out and was limited edition. But Charlotte Tilbury brought back this palette just after Christmas and I knew that I needed to get my hands on one of them (it comes in "Natural Beauty" or "Seductive Beauty")! I decided to choose the "Natural Beauty" palette as I thought it would have products that I could use every single day and I could even take travelling with me. Recently I have been obsessed with trying to create a 'no makeup, makeup look' and this palette is perfect for creating this look. Featuring 7 exclusive and beautiful shades, this 5-minute magic makeup palette is perfect for any person; whether they are 18 or 90! This is perfect if you are in a rush or you want that beautiful fresh-faced look on-the-go!

THE PERFECT NUDE - CHARLOTTE TILBURY HOT LIPS LIPSTICK "KIM K.W."

I am forever on the search for the perfect nude lipstick whether it is a luxury brand or from the drugstore; and I think I can say that I have finally found the perfect nude lipstick for me. In the Summer of 2016, Charlotte Tilbury brought out 16 'Hot Lips' lipsticks, featuring 4 bestselling favourites, inspired by and in collaboration with some of the world's most inspiring female celebrities; including Kim Kardashian-West, Miranda Kerr, Sienna Miller, Victoria Beckham, Poppy Delevingne and Salma Hayek. I have only recently gotten onto the bandwagon of buying Charlotte Tilbury and my collection has now grown even more since buying one lipstick from them (I now have a face palette, eye palette and a couple more lipsticks)! When these lipsticks first came out, there was one shade that every blogger and beauty YouTuber was raving about and that was the shade Kim K.W. and since owning it I can see what all of the fuss is about. If you have ever wanted to know what Kim Kardashian wears on her lips to create that perfect pinky/nude shade, then Charlotte Tilbury has you covered. I would definitely say this is the perfect nude lipstick ...

FRIDAY TREATS #1

Each Friday, I want to talk about three products that I have been loving and at the end of the month carry on with my monthly favourites. This week there have been three products that I have absolutely been loving and I wanted to share them with you all! All of these products will usually be beauty or fashion related but I will also include favourite books, jewellery pieces, homeware or food. Whether it's something to add to your wish list, a mid-week treat, or a gift for a friend ... maybe it can give you some inspiration on what to buy on your next shopping trip!

First of all my current candle of choice: Jo Malone's candle in Sweet Almond & Macaroon. I have always loved the Jo Malone candles and I recently purchased a few as Christmas gifts for family and friends and of course I had to buy one for myself as well. I love the Wood Sage & Sea Salt candle but I wanted to try something new and I love anything that smells of almond; so when I saw that Jo Malone had a candle in the scent Sweet Almond & Macaroon, I knew that I wanted to try it out. This candle has a very sweet scent and reminds me of marzipan (so if you are not keen on marzipan and sweet scents then this is not the candle for you). When you light it however, it becomes the perfect warm-home scent and it just reminds me of when I marzipan the Christmas cake each year. Usually candles with sweet or food scents give me a headache but this candle does not and it is just a beautiful scent to fill the whole house. Jo Malone is a pricey brand and these candles will set you back £42, so it is definitely a special-occasion candle only and I do not burn this every day because I want it to last as long as possible. I actually have two of these candles because I was given the same scent for Christmas so I am very happy that I have a spare candle. It would make a great birthday, Christmas or even a housewarming person, and it's one I can see going on my birthday and Christmas wish lists when mine eventually runs out! Available from Jo Malone and Selfridges or online here.

MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

Firstly I want to wish everyone reading this a VERY Happy New Year! I hope you all had an amazing time over the Christmas holidays and are excited for what exciting new things 2017 will bring. I had a lovely chilled Christmas in Suffolk with my family and then spent New Years relaxing at a spa hotel with family and friends. I am never a big fan of New Year's Eve, and I prefer to have a quiet New Years with those I care about. But I do love the feeling of starting the New Year feeling inspired, full of motivation and creative energy. In the past I have been useless with keeping my New Year's Resolutions but this year I am more motivated and determined than ever and I thought I would share with you all my goals/resolutions for 2017; some are personal and some are more work-based. I feel like it is an incredible cliche trying to do the whole 'new year, new me' thing, but this year I am truly inspired to improve myself and to constantly progress in all aspects of my life.
