Each Friday, I want to talk about three products that I have been loving and at the end of the month carry on with my monthly favourites. This week there have been three products that I have absolutely been loving and I wanted to share them with you all! All of these products will usually be beauty or fashion related but I will also include favourite books, jewellery pieces, homeware or food. Whether it's something to add to your wish list, a mid-week treat, or a gift for a friend ... maybe it can give you some inspiration on what to buy on your next shopping trip!
First of all my current candle of choice: Jo Malone's candle in Sweet Almond & Macaroon. I have always loved the Jo Malone candles and I recently purchased a few as Christmas gifts for family and friends and of course I had to buy one for myself as well. I love the Wood Sage & Sea Salt candle but I wanted to try something new and I love anything that smells of almond; so when I saw that Jo Malone had a candle in the scent Sweet Almond & Macaroon, I knew that I wanted to try it out. This candle has a very sweet scent and reminds me of marzipan (so if you are not keen on marzipan and sweet scents then this is not the candle for you). When you light it however, it becomes the perfect warm-home scent and it just reminds me of when I marzipan the Christmas cake each year. Usually candles with sweet or food scents give me a headache but this candle does not and it is just a beautiful scent to fill the whole house. Jo Malone is a pricey brand and these candles will set you back £42, so it is definitely a special-occasion candle only and I do not burn this every day because I want it to last as long as possible. I actually have two of these candles because I was given the same scent for Christmas so I am very happy that I have a spare candle. It would make a great birthday, Christmas or even a housewarming person, and it's one I can see going on my birthday and Christmas wish lists when mine eventually runs out! Available from Jo Malone and Selfridges or online here.
Next for my foundation of choice for the past few weeks; Too Faced's 'Born This Way' Undetectable Liquid Foundation. Usually my high-end foundation would always be the Chanel 'LES BEIGE' Healthy Glow Foundation (I love this foundation so much that I have already repurchased it twice). However, it is quite expensive at £36 and the shade that I have is more for when I am slightly more tanned, so I wanted to try a new foundation. When I was scouring the Debenhams website looking for a foundation I found the Too Faced 'Born This Way' Undetectable Liquid Foundation. I am usually really bad at determining what shade of foundation is best for me but I took a stab in the dark and went for the shade 'Porcelain'; which turned out to be the perfect shade. This foundation is a lot more watery than other foundations that I use but it gives me a healthy complexion whilst leaving my skin looking radiant and dewy. It is also oil-free making it perfect for those who have oily skin and has been infused with coconut water (to replenish the skin's moisture levels), alpine rose (to brighten the skin's appearance) and hyaluronic acid (to create a more smoother and youthful appearance). This foundation blended onto my skin perfectly and gives me a medium coverage, although you can build it up for a more full coverage. It does not turn orange and it really does not look like I am wearing foundation at all. I have had so many compliments on my skin since I have used this foundation and it has fast become one of my favourite high-end foundations of all time. It retails for £29 - you can pick it up in Debenhams or online here.
Finally, my third Friday treat this week are the GHD Soft Curl Tongs. GHD is one of my favourite hair styling brand and I decided to treat myself to Soft Curl Tongs just before Christmas. I had actually seen Victoria from inthefrow talking about these when she was explaining how she styled and curled her hair, and I knew that I wanted to try them out. Just before Christmas I cut my hair so it is a lot shorter, and the reason for doing this was because my hair was becoming very weak and it would not hold a curl at all. Almost as soon as I had curled my hair, the curls would fall out and my hair would be straight again. So I thought I would try these GHDs out because I love the look of soft and natural curls. Plus I thought it would work on my shorter hair but also on longer hair once I have grown my hair again. These are so easy to use and I like the fact that the barrel of the tongs is fairly large, giving you large, bouncy and soft curls. These are expensive at £120 - and they can be purchased from the GHD website, in salons, Selfridges or online here (at the moment these are retailing for £100 on the Selfridges website).
Let me know what three products you have been loving this week in the comments below ...
