A NEW SUMMER FAVOURITE
Sticking to a routine is becoming more difficult, especially with what is happening at the moment in the world; my diet has changed, my exercise routine is happening more frequently and the way I do my makeup is different. At the moment, makeup is something that I am not wearing as much; I am definitely not doing a full face of makeup every single day. However, I am usually always using a foundation, doing my eyebrows, using mascara and putting on some lipgloss. With the weather significantly improving, I am no longer reaching for my full coverage foundations and instead am reaching for a CC Cream. I never thought that I would be someone who would have fallen in love with a CC cream but I have.My skincare routine is definitely something that I have been working on in the last year and I have seen such an improvement in my skin over the last few months. I will be writing my skincare routine soon but have noticed that drinking more water has definitely improved the appearance of my skin. Suffering with normal to dry skin and having redness often makes it difficult to find lightweight foundations that provide enough coverage but doesn't emphasis the dry areas on my face. However, the my dry skin and would be perfect for the warmer summer months. That was when I found the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination (ad) has been my go-to summer foundation for my base over the last few weeks. It is definitely a little tube of perfection!
IT Cosmetics has been a brand that I have never had in my makeup collection before. Therefore, when I started to run out of my favourite foundations, I decided that I needed a change and decided to finally look at IT Cosmetics. I had heard some great reviews about this product and wanted to see how a CC Cream would perform on my skin. Of course, I also purchased their Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Concealer (ad) and their Star Brush. I have been using this product for the last three weeks and I can definitely say I am very impressed with the quality and performance of this CC Cream.

On my skin, this tube is just full of liquid gold ... I cannot explain how flawless my skin looks every time I use this as my base. It provides a light, natural and glowing effect to the skin but does not look like I have a heavy foundation on. Often, I find foundations cling to the dry areas around my eyes and nose but this does not; although I always make sure I put on a hydrating moisturiser before putting makeup on. It really does look like my skin but better. Even though it is a CC Cream, it has great coverage and is provides a natural glow to my skin. If you have oily skin then this would not be a product for you although they do have a formula for oily skin. I usually find that a couple of pumps is enough to complete my base, although I do usually go in with one more pump and specifically blend it into the areas where I have more redness. Obviously the less pumps the more sheer the coverage will be and I still love a fairly full coverage base.
The lasting power of this CC Cream is incredible; I have sat out in the garden with this on and it has not faded, gone cakey or cracked. This will be perfect on holidays (when we are allowed to travel again) as it has SPF 50 in it; although I always make sure I put sunscreen on before hand as well so I am extra safe when I am in the sun.
It performs well with the other products I own and I have been loving using cream bronzers and blushers with this CC Cream so it is easier to blend in. I have also used powders on top and I have not struggled to blend it in. When I apply this cream I make sure that I use a brush as I have found that gives me the most coverage. I have used my BeautyBlender with it but have found it is more sheer and I end up using more of the product as it gets soaked into the sponge. However, the finish has always looked great and if my skin is behaving that day then I will use a sponge as I do love a sheer coverage every so often.
In terms of the shade range, this is where IT Cosmetics is let down. There are not many shades to choose from especially for those who have deeper complexions. I really hope that they bring out more shades in the future as this is such a brilliant formula. I did choose a shade that is slightly darker as I knew it was a foundation that I would want to use in the summer when I am more tanned. I found that it can oxidise so I probably would go for a lighter shade and mix them together to get my perfect shade. I can get away with wearing the CC Cream on its own but I do often mix a pump of a lighter foundation to create a shade that matches my skin.
At the moment, QVC is selling the CC Cream with the Heavenly Skin Brush (ad) for only £39, on 4 easy payments. This is a brilliant price and is where I purchased my IT Cosmetics products. Unfortunately, they do not have the bundle that I purchased is no longer available but I will keep an eye out for it!
